With a credit card cash advance feature, cardholders can use a portion of their credit line to obtain cash. It is relatively simple to do but there are various related expenses.

Though zero percent APR cash advances were offered by some credit card companies in the past, no company currently offers such a deal.

However, some do offer lower cash advance APRs than others.

Another option is to take out a cash advance from an existing card and then immediately transfer the balance to a card that features a zero percent introductory APR. For each cash advance, the transaction fee will be about three to five percent.

A balance transfer fee of approximately the same amount will also be charged. These fees combined will usually be lower than the APR for a cash advance loans that is not transferred.

Discover, Chase, and American Express each has several cards with zero percent introductory APRs. British Airways offers a 19.24 percent cash advance APR on its Visa Signature Card and Continental Airlines does the same for its OnePass Plus Card.

The cash advance APR for the Chase Freedom Visa Card varies from 19.24 to 23.24 percent.

The student credit card Citi mtvU Platinum Select Visa Card has a 25.24 percent cash advance APR.
